No Such Thing As Waste!
Sustainable Practices and Local Responsible Food Sourcing
At Our Chapter Meeting, Thursday, September 19th at 6:30 PM
Join us for an inspiring journey toward sustainability with our special guest and speaker, Jessica Waite, co-CEO of The Plot Restaurants, voted the most sustainable vegan restaurant nationwide by Veg Out! Jessica is also the president of the local non-profit Berry Good Food and sits on the board of One Kitchen Collaborative. She works within her community to promote local and responsible food sourcing. Her goal is to build regenerative businesses that benefit all partners, community members, and the planet.
Discover how Jessica has embraced that there is no such thing as waste. She shares tips and practices for adopting a zero-waste ethos and local food sourcing in our homes and lives. Plus, find out how the local nonprofit Berry Good Food provides grants to K-12 schools and community educational organizations with garden projects that support healthy food education. Their overarching mission is to ensure that all people have the option to choose locally and sustainably produced food.
We hope you will register for this chapter meeting filled with ways to bring sustainable practices into your life. Plus, we are giving away gift cards from the plot restaurants in Costa Mesa, CA. The plot, a 100% plant-based oasis, focuses on the whole vegetable and the total utilization of fresh, boundary-pushing ingredients — some of which are grown directly behind the restaurant. The plot is also a Surfrider ocean-friendly restaurant.
